Many people discovered this act through a video that went viral on social media. The event took place at the beginning of the week in the Ndop,  Ngo-Ketunjia division.

The incident, which took place on Monday 7 May 2024, has been attributed to the Black Lions of Bambili, one of the armed separatist militants active in the Ngoketunja division. In the video, a person calling himself General Kolambo claims responsibility for the capture. “I am General Kolambo, father of the Black Lions of Bamali. Who parked this thing here?”

The video shows civilians in a business centre in Ndop, while the gendarmerie truck is parked next to a black vehicle. It remains unclear whether the truck was abandoned by the defence forces or whether there was a clash between government troops and armed Ambazonian separatists that led to the military vehicle being captured; no casualties have been reported and there has been no official response from the administration since the video was broadcast.
