The inauguration ceremony will take place on upcoming April 12. It will be presided over by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.

Cameroon will officially host the African Development Bank‘s Regional Office for Central Africa. That will be on April 12. Cameroon’s Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, accompanied by the Bank Group’s Vice President for Regional Development, Integration and Service Delivery, Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, representing the Bank Group President, members of the government and representatives of the six other countries in the region covered by the regional office will attend the ceremony, according to the institution.

By opening a regional headquarter for Central Africa, the African Development Bank Group is moving closer to its member countries in the region. This aims at enhancing the quality of dialogue and increase the impact of its operations. Its presence will also give the opportunity to the institution to strengthen cooperation with other bilateral and multilateral development partners, sub-regional institutions, as well as key public and private sector actors and civil society, with a view to achieving greater convergence and impact.

The African Development Bank Group is a key partner for the development of the Central African countries, given its significant contribution to macroeconomic stability and in many other areas: development of regional infrastructure, transport, energy, value chains, information and communication technologies, as well as the intensification of the regional integration process and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The Central Africa Regional Office is one of the Bank Group’s five regional offices in Africa. It covers seven countries: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
