In a heartfelt message this Jane 8, 2026, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kumbo His Lordship Bishop George Nkuo, urged Christians to embody love and forgiveness in their daily lives.
This was during the Eucharistic celebration at the St. John the Evangelist Parish Kumba as part of activities of day 6 of the 49th National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC) taking place in the Southwest Region.
Delivering a powerful homily during the Pontifical Mass officiated by His Grace Andrew Nkea, Bishop Nkuo emphasized the Church’s mission to serve humanity through justice, love, peace, solidarity, and communion. Drawing on his early experiences as a priest in Kumba, he referred to the town as his home and reinforced the call for Christians to practice love and forgiveness, echoing the profound biblical truth that God loved humanity first.
“You cannot love God and hate your brother,” he passionately declared, reminding the congregation of the essential connection between love for God and love for others. Bishop Nkuo highlighted the importance of taking the initiative to forgive, reflecting the divine nature of God.

His message underscored that by maintaining Christian values, believers become spiritual conquerors and that staying close to Christ represents the greatest victory in their lives. He challenged the faithful to reflect on whether their love liberates others and to embrace practices that resonate with the immense love God has for humanity.
