The Board of Directors met July 26 under the chairmanship of its president, Dr Jules Hilaire Foka Foka.

The Bafoussam Regional Hospital will be able to offer better care to its patients. Its board of directors met last friday. It has approved a budget for the first quarter. The budget is 1 billion 171 million CFA francs.

According to Professor Enow Orock George, director of the institution, this budget will allow the oncology centre to be better equipped. The centre includes a free cervical cancer screening and treatment centre.

This project is part of the process of modernising the hospital’s services. The Chairman of the Management Committee, Dr Jules Hilaire Foka Foka, congratulated the hospital on this initiative.

He took the opportunity to praise the quality of the work and invited the population to benefit from the expertise of this institution. “The Bafoussam Regional Hospital now has a cervical cancer screening and treatment unit, to the delight of the community. Cervical cancer is a major public health problem in Africa. Cervical cancer is a real psychosis for women and the Bafoussam regional hospital now has a unit to deal with the problem. It should be noted that the director of the regional hospital is also a professor of pathological anatomy, and with the presence of an ontologist, I think it’s important for people to take advantage of it.”
