The health section of the Christian movement launched its programme to strengthen the resilience of refugees, internally displaced persons and hosts.
In Cameroon’s Far North region, the terrorist sect Boko Haram has wreaked havoc, displacing many people from their homes. Aware of the difficulties these people have been facing for almost a decade, the Cameroon Baptist Convention is at the bedside of these vulnerable people. This is through its health section.
The latter just launched the “Strengthening the resilience of refugees, internally displaced people and host communities” programme. It aims at improving access to health, education and income-generating activities. The program is based on three pillars: education, health and income-generating activities.
It will be implemented in three divisions of the region : Logone and Chari, Mayo-Sava and Mayo-Tsanaga, all victims of the Boko Haram crisis. To achieve these objectives, a signature ceremony of a memorandum of understanding with the University of Maroua took place on June 01, 2023. The ceremony was presided over by Lawrence Diyen Jam, Secretary General, representing the Governor of the Far North Region, who was joined by Fon Julius, Country Director of Christian Blimb Mission, and Professor Tih Pius Muffih of the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services
