The amount was granted to cocoa producers in Mbangassina last September, 20 by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana.
The Minister of Trade, , presided over the ceremony setting the launch of the cocao group sale of cocoa for the 2023/2024 season in Mbangassina, in the Mbam-et-Kim division in the Centre region. This initiative, supervised by the National Cocoa and Coffee Board, enabled producers in Mbangassina to mobilise an impressive 105 tonnes of cocoa.
After lively debates and proposals from each candidate, the auction was won by the CCQ company, receiving an envelop of FCFA 1,760. Thanks to this victory, the producers of Mbangassina were able to pocket more than 184 million FCFA.
For the minister of Trade, this success is the fruit of an ambitious agricultural policy. The minister took the opportunity to stress the importance of following Mbangassina’s example. He encouraged producers to take part in similar initiatives rather than turning to informal sales channels.
