The National Council for the Approval of Textbooks and Didactic Materials has announced that only 133 textbooks will be approved for the next school year.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the anglophone secondary subsystem will have 77 textbooks on its book list, while the francophone subsystem will have 56 textbooks; that is for the first cycle. In total, 133 textbooks will be approved out of 532 proposed.

This information was announced during the 23rd evaluation session of the National Council for the Approval of Textbooks and Didactic Materials (CNAMSD), as the current book list used for the last six years will expire at the end of the ongoing school year.

During this meeting, the CNAMSMD announced that it had received 286 proposals for the anglophone subsystem and 246 proposals for the francophone subsystem. Among the publishers who submitted their textbooks, there were 45 national publishers and four foreign publishers (France, England, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire).
