Cameroonian Customs Eyes over FCFA 20 Billion in Cocoa Export Taxes in 2023
The Cameroonian Customs Administration is expecting the newly-introduced cocoa beans export tax to generate between CFA20 billion and CFA25 billion this year. The finance law states that the export of raw cocoa beans is subject to an autonomous exit duty at a rate of 10% of the FOB value. This rate is 2% for cocoa beans exported to industrial free points or similar systems.

CERAC Counts Achievements
The balance sheet of last year and prospects for the ongoing 2023 were presented in Yaounde last Friday January 13th during the 29th General Assembly of the humanitarian association. The Founding President, Chantal Biya attended the get together where it also emerged that some 40 projects are earmarked for this year to put smiles on the faces of the needy across the country.

The Cameroonian government plans to spend CFA2 billion on 57 technical studies for roads, freeways, expressways, and engineering works throughout FY2023. The information was reported in a recent statement by the Ministry of Public Works. 11 studies concern the control of works and the remaining 46 are construction and rehabilitation studies.

Fabrice Ondoa, 27 years old, comes from far away. The dark period when he was looking for a club is now an old memory.

Cameroon: Customs revenues up 5.3% YoY in 2022
The Cameroonian customs directorate announced it has collected a total of CFA897.4 billion in revenues in 2022. Fongod Edwin Nuvaga, the head of the administration, said this performance, which is up 5.3% compared to that of 2021, even exceeded the initial expectations for the year (CFA897.4 billion). This makes an achievement rate of 103.9%.
