Philadelphia Sixers star and last season’s MVP will announce his choice of nation to represent at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games “in the coming days”.
Philadelphia Sixers star Joel Embiid will decide “in the next few days” which country he will represent in international competition, particularly at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he said last Monday. Embiid, age 29, won the NBA’s MVP award last season. He holds three passports and could play for Cameroon, his native country, France or the United States. “It’s a tough decision,” he admitted, despite having kept the suspense alive for several months.
“I like all three,” he said at his Philadelphia Sixers franchise’s media day. “I was born in Cameroon and I always wanted to represent my country. But the goal is also to play in the Olympics,” he said, despite the fact that Cameroon had qualified for an Olympic qualifying tournament without being certain that they would take part, unlike France or the United States. “I will probably decide in the next few days” releases Joel Embiid.
