From February 23rd to April 3rd, 2026, the Humanitarian Peacekeeping program attained a new milestone with the successful certification of its 4th Cohort in a ceremony at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon – IRIC in Yaounde.

The session marked a significant growth in the program’s methodology, introducing a fully immersive residential camp experience. Trainees balanced rigorous academic schedules at IRIC during the day with high-intensity tactical sessions held deep into the evening. A structure designed specifically to forge the discipline, physical endurance, and operational readiness required for real-world humanitarian missions.

The training was distinguished by high-level national partnerships with the Cameroon Ministry of Defense Special Forces and the National Fire Brigade – CNSP. These experts provided field-oriented instruction in life-saving disciplines, including Tactical combat casualty care, search and rescue, and emergency fire and flood response.

By simulating high-pressure environments, the program ensured that participants moved beyond theory to master the practicalities of civilian protection, evacuation management, and disaster risk reduction.

Complementing the physical rigors, the curriculum maintained a robust focus on international standards and ethical frameworks. Participants engaged in deep-dive sessions on United Nations peacekeeping protocols, International Humanitarian Law – IHL, and conflict resolution.

This holistic approach bridged the gap between tactical skill and strategic leadership, preparing the cohort to navigate the complex legal and diplomatic landscapes of modern conflict zones while maintaining the highest levels of professional integrity.

As these newly minted peacekeepers prepare to deploy their skills in high-risk environments, the Humanitarian Peacekeeping Program has officially opened admissions for its next session in June 2026.

The success of the 4th Cohort serves as a powerful testament to the program’s ability to produce world-class responders. Individuals driven by a passion for global impact and humanitarian service are now invited to join the ranks of those trained to meet the world’s most pressing challenges with expertise and courage.
