The kickoff for activities marking the 41st edition of International Women’s Day (IWD) took place this March 4, 2026, at the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT).
The “Parcours Vita” in Yaoundé came alive with a high-energy sports session that was led by the Director of Civil Protection, Angèle Ndzie Ntsama. Under the global theme, “Rights, Justice, Action: For All Women and Girls,” the event saw an impressive turnout of female staff dedicated to fitness and professional solidarity.
The women of MINAT mobilized in large numbers to prioritize their physical health and mental well-being. The morning program featured a variety of activities, including stretching routines, fitness circuits, and a brisk collective walk. These exercises provided a memorable break from the office environment, fostering an electric atmosphere that combined physical exertion with recreational joy.
Beyond the clear health benefits, the sporting encounter served as a vital platform for communal bonding and the promotion of female leadership within the ministry. It highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle in maintaining productivity and balance in the workplace. The event underscored that empowered women are not only those who lead in policy but those who take charge of their own vitality.
The vibrant morning marked the beginning of a week-long celebration dedicated to honoring the women of MINAT. As the festivities continue, the ministry aims to keep the momentum going with activities that magnify the achievements of its female workforce. By starting with sports, MINAT has set a dynamic tone for a week centered on action, justice, and the holistic empowerment of every woman in the administration.
