As part of activities to mark the 21st Edition of the National Bilingualism Week, the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT) organised a two hour question and answer quiz session this day, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Conference Hall of MINAT.

The quiz session took place under the supervision of the Assistant Research Officer number 1 (CEA1) of the Division of Translation and Promotion of Bilingualism at MINAT, Mondgeli Joseph. The session formed part of the celebrations done under the theme “Prepectoral Administration and the Promotion of Bilingualism in the Context of Artificial Intelligence”.

Participants at the quiz session were carefully selected from the various services within and the external services of MINAT. They were divided into three groups. 60 questions were randomly picked and answered.

Focus of the questions were on grammar, spelling, verb conjugation and how well the participants knew the Ministry, its organisation, and the roles and responsibilities of its different services, from top management to operational units.

To ensure fairness and transparency, all candidates were thoroughly checked before the session began, and their mobile phones were collected. Answers were given after consultation among group members, promoting teamwork and collective thinking rather than individual competition.

This intellectual activity took place within the broader framework of the National Bilingualism Week, which officially kicked off on Saturday, 31 January 2026, with a sports and leisure day organised by the Division of Translation and Promotion of Bilingualism with head Dr Werebesi Luther Tetuh. The initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to promoting bilingualism as a foundation of national unity while adapting public administration to modern realities such as artificial intelligence. At the end of the question-answer quiz session, group C won.

After the quiz session, participants and the entire MINAT personnel proceeded to a gastronomic fair held at the MINAT lobby, opened by the Secretary General, Yves Christian Edoa Effa, and directors from the various departments, offering a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for cultural exchange.

The various dishes displayed at the lobby comprised of “egusi pudding, eru and water fufu, ekwang, okok-baton, couscous-kelin-kelin, pile de pommes, koki, achu, nnam owondo, porc, kilishi pimente” and natural juice made from fruits. A true showcase of the country’s culinary art.

  1. This activity was supervised by Mme Mbezele Françiose Yolande, Sub-Director of Bilingualism. The Question and Answer Quiz and Food Fair stood out as enriching and well-organised activities, reinforcing knowledge, discipline, and the spirit of bilingualism within the Ministry and contributing meaningfully to the success of the 21st National Bilingualism Week.
