Assessing the implementation of recommendations that were made during the first initial gathering was the center of the second preparatory meeting that took place yesterday January 8, 2026 at the Multi-purpose Youth Promotion Reference Center (CMPJ-Réf) in Yaoundé-Madagascar.

The Minister of Youth and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou was represented at this meeting, that took place both in person and via videoconference, by the Secretary General of MINJEC, Zachée Robert Théophile Benga. The meeting was expanded to include sectoral administrations and various partners.

The meeting was an opportunity for presentations from the chairpersons of various commissions and sub-committees to be done, regarding the progress of preparations within their specific areas of responsibility.

​Key updates from the meeting included an established Harmonized National Program, updates exchange platforms, and the finalizing of timelines and terms of reference. The feedback from the  “Launch Commission” to the “Mobilization Commission” and the “Youth Village” team were favorably satisfactory.

A major highlight was the presentation by the sub-committees for patriotic songs and mass displays. They showcased the proposed songs, music, and choreography for the parade on February 11th.

The exchange phase allowed for various opinions, proposals, and contributions, resulting in specific recommendations aimed at ensuring a high-quality celebration for this landmark 60th anniversary.

​To conclude, the Secretary General thanked and encouraged all stakeholders. He specifically urged those currently lagging behind to speed up their efforts to avoid any potential complications as the event approaches.
