The Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motaze, has conducted a thorough inspection tour of his decentralized services in the Adamawa Region to carry out a comprehensive assessment. From the General Treasury to Customs, and through the Tax offices and Financial Control, the approach remained consistent: rigor and proximity.

The Minister began his administrative “check-up” at the General Treasury where the Treasurer Paymaster General, Ahmadou Njomna, and his staff provided a formal welcome to their guest. Between handshakes and a keen observation of the working environment, the Minister “took the pulse” of this strategic administration.

The Financial Control, Tax Centers, and Customs equally went through the same evaluation process. Each halt made by the Minister and his delegation offered an opportunity for an uncompromising inspection. Beyond merely verifying procedures, Minister Louis Paul Motaze took the time to listen to the grievances of his agents while questioning staff on the operational difficulties they are confronted with on the ground. Specific inquiries were made on the quality of the welcome provided to the taxpayers of Ngaoundéré.

Throughout his visit, the Minister hammered home the imperative of a results-oriented culture and unwavering integrity.

For Louis Paul Motaze, the budgetary performance of the 2026 fiscal year is rooted in the efficiency of the service provided to citizens.

This field visit was more than a routine inspection; it served as a powerful call to action. The region’s public officials are now expected to demonstrate increased rigor in the collection of state revenue to ensure national financial goals are met.

It is worth mentioning that this visit is part of the activities that proceed the Solemn launching ceremony of the state budget for the 2026 fiscal year in the North region that took place on January 13, 2026.

Of Cameroon’s total projected national budget of 8,816 billion CFA Francs, the North Region has been allocated 57.528 billion CFA Francs with 50 billion as investment budget and 7 billion as operating budget.
