The information comes after the Prime Minister granted an audience to Audrey Azoulay, Director General of the organisation.

The Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute, granted Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, an audience on September 2024.
During the audience, she made a powerful announcement: “I am pleased to announce, in the presence of the Prime Minister and the ministers responsible for education, that a global partnership for education will be set up thanks to funding of almost 45 million dollars (around 27 billion CFA francs). They are all aimed at improving investment in education”.
Audrey Azoulay also promised that UNESCO would continue to provide various forms of support to strengthen distance learning in Cameroon. She made the pledge in Yaoundé during her visit to the Distance Learning Centre of the Ministry of Secondary Education.
