In a bid to ignite a love for reading in Cameroon, Gaëlle Pajiep, a passionate book lover, has launched Book A Book, an initiative aimed at promoting reading and establishing libraries and media centers across the country.
Pajiep’s brainchild was born out of her concern about the limited access to reading materials and spaces in Cameroon, which hinders the development of a reading culture. She hence aim at making reading a part of Cameroonian culture, emphasizing that reading has the power to transform lives and communities.
Book A Book has already gained momentum, with numerous individuals and organizations donating books, funds, and expertise. The association’s social media platforms provide a wealth of information for those interested in getting involved.
To officially launch Book A Book, a ceremony will be held on Friday, December 13th, at the Starland Hotel in Yaoundé’s Bastos neighborhood. As Gaëlle Pajiep aptly puts it, saying that reading is the key to unlocking minds and unleashing potential.
