The Ministry of Youth and Civic Education is set to organize the 2026 National Youth Forum in the days ahead. Scheduled to take place from January 14 to 16, 2026 at the Yaounde Conference Center, this year’s event, placed under the high patronage of the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA has a theme: “Cameroonian youth: a human capital rooted in strong moral, civic and entrepreneurial values, at the heart of the Seven-Year Term of Great Expectations of H.E. Paul BIYA, for a united, stable and prosperous Cameroon.”

Ahead of this event, the Minister Mounouna Foutsou presided over a preparatory meeting at the conference hall of his Ministerial department on January 09, 2026. The session focused on the initiative designed to help young people take ownership of the presidential responses outlined in the “Seven-Year Term of Great Hopes,” with a specific focus on youth empowerment.

This major national event aims to provide a platform for dialogue, reflection and proposals on the strategic role of youth in building a Cameroon firmly oriented towards progress, peace and shared prosperity.

Before the huge crowd that took part at the meeting, the Minister laid the groundwork for this major national event, which was structured around several key sub-themes particularly Education, training, and skills development. He equally spoke of the Socio-economic integration, employability, Civic participation, Youth leadership and entrepreneurship spirit of the youth so as to encourage Social cohesion, peace, and security.

This unprecedented event will serve as an ideal framework for establishing a solid dialogue between various stakeholders—public, private, national, and international—by prioritizing the needs and aspirations of the youth. To ensure a strong digital presence, the website www.fonajeune.cm has been launched. It will provide access to information and serve as a channel of contributions that could be made from youth across the Ten regions.

Youths will equally be able to understand the National Youth Policy and its “Youth Plan,” as well as the National Action Plan for Youth, Peace, and Security. The meeting allowed all stakeholders to finalize and harmonize technical and logistical elements. The goal is to ensure a successful forum that reassures young people that the planned initiatives will be implemented with them and for them.
