A decree issued by the Minister of Higher Education sets the beginning, course and end of the 2023/2024 academic session.
The 22-article decree sets the academic calendar for higher education institutions in the Republic of Cameroon for the 2023/2024 academic session. According to Article 3 of this decree, academic activities for the 2023-2024 academic year must begin on Monday, 02 October 2023 and end on Wednesday 31 July 2024 in all higher education institutions in Cameroon.
These activities include teaching, training, teaching, continuous assessment, final and oral examinations. Orientation, pre-registration and registration for the bachelor’s degree cycle will begin on Monday 04 September 2023. Pre-registration, selection and enrolment for the Master II and Doctoral programmes will occur before Monday 06 November 2023, the start date for these programmes, as specified in Art. 16. The year is organised in two semesters, with a total of at least 28 weeks and no more than 32 weeks of effective instruction, as specified in Art. 7 and 8.
The first term shall run from Tuesday 03 September 2023 to Friday 01 March 2024. The second semester begins on Monday 21 March 2024 and ends on Wednesday 31 July 2024, while the university holidays begin on Wednesday 1 August 2024 at 15:30 and end on Monday 09 September 2024 at 07:30.
