During a ceremony held last Friday 15 September, Mayor Maptue Fotso donated equipment and inputs to several GICs and associations in her division.
One of the priorities of the Mayor of Pète-Bandjoun, Maptue Fotso Nicky Love Epse Talla, is to promote livestock and fish farming. She is just from organizing a donation ceremony in Bandjoun. The donations included 200 bags of cement, 22 wheelbarrows, 20 troughs, 200 spades, 75 beehives, 10 fish tanks, 2 thermoplongeurs, 150 pairs of boots and much more…
The Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industry (MINEPIA) also allocated 32 million CFA francs to the Pète-Bandjoun city council as part of the 2023 Public Investment Budget (BIP) to support grassroots producers and socio-economic development.
For the mayor, this funding is fully in line with government policy as set out in the National Development Strategy (Snd-30): “The Millennium Development Goals and the campaign plan of the mayor that I am are to fight poverty and hunger and to ensure the well-being of the people of Bandjoun. I have therefore focused my intervention on two main areas: support for income-generating micro-projects in livestock, fisheries and aquaculture. Secondly, building, equipping and managing infrastructure to support livestock, fisheries and aquaculture,” she said in her speech.
