A United States Embassy delegation visited Ngaoundéré University campus to share ideas on transformative education.
A US Embassy delegation, led by Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba Séne, met with the University of Ngaoundéré education community. It was part of an information session on the windows of opportunity to pursue in order to help transform society. The information session, which lasted several hours, focused on cultural, educational and professional exchange programmes. Among the programmes that caught the attention of the students were the Youth Exchange and Study Programmes, the Community Solutions Programmes, the Pan-African Youth Leadership Programme, amidst others.
The occasion also gave the delegation from the US Embassy a clear idea of the activities being carried out within the Centre for Transformative Education, which was created by ministerial decree on September 14, 2023 within the Faculty of Education at the University of Ngaoundéré. The aim of the Centre is to open up new perspectives in the field of transformative education, to train enlightened leaders and to make a positive contribution to the development of Cameroonian society. The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Education at the University of Ngaoundéré, Professor Germain Fabrice Menye, has announced a number of initiatives for this academic year that will enable the centre to achieve its objectives of equipping young people with skills for the transformation of their environment.
