The project should be completed by the end of the first half of this year, according to the Ministry of Public Works.
The road between Babadjou and Matazem in the West region covers a distance of 17 km. The project has accelerated in recent months. According to the Ministry of Public Works, 93% of the road is now complete. This is mainly due to the completion of the earthworks, the subbase, the bituminous gravel base and the bituminous concrete wearing course.
As far as road safety is concerned, work on the signalling system has already been completed. Work on the ancillary structures is also well advanced. They are 70% complete.
Several people are already sharing their experiences on this road, like Kay-Zie who wrote on social media, “The road is good. I enjoyed my trip to Bamenda a few days ago”. Another adds: “Truly on passing there, I really enjoyed the road,” Ferdinand Bantar.
