The Local Governance and Resilient Communities Project – PROLOG has reached a new milestone in supporting Decentralized Territorial Collectivities – CTDs.

On August 31, 2026, in Yaounde, PROLOG and the National School of Local Administration – NASLA officially signed a 12-month collaboration agreement valued at nearly 850 million FCFA. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to boosting effective decentralization, driven by a highly qualified local workforce and improved municipal performance.

​Under this initiative, nearly 2,000 local officials and leaders across six key regions; the Far North, North, Adamawa, East, North-West, and South-West will participate in specialized training programs over the coming days.

The curriculum focuses on critical operational areas, including municipal financial governance, human resource management, and civil status registry operations. By targetting these core domains, the program aims to build robust institutional capacity at the grassroots level.

​The primary objective of this collaboration is to equip local elected officials and administrative leaders with practical tools and modern management skills. By enhancing local public administration, the initiative seeks to raise the standard of municipal services and deliver faster, more efficient responses to the needs of local populations. Strengthening these competencies directly addresses long-standing operational gaps within local councils.

​Highlighting the practical purpose of the partnership, the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development emphasized that capacity-building for CTD actors must translate into tangible improvements in the daily services delivered to citizens.

Through this strategic funding and targeted training, PROLOG and NASLA aim to turn local governance principles into concrete development outcomes for communities across Cameroon.
