According to the press release issued by the Minister, these parties have been authorised “to enrich the political debate and encourage the expression of freedom”. These parties will help “stimulate a contrasting and constructive political debate”, says Paul Atanga Nji. The 40 new parties are in addition to the 318 who are already operational in the country.
