The President of the Republic issued a decree on Wednesday 26 July.

According to the presidential decree, “an official funeral will be held in honour of Mr Ni John Fru Ndi, President of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), who died in Yaounde last June 12, 2023 as a result of an illness. This official funeral will take place on Saturday 29 July 2023 in Baba II, Mezam Department, Northwest Region”, it says.

The politician will begin his final journey to eternity on Thursday 27 July. The funeral programme announced by party officials includes several events in different places.

The official funeral, initiated by the Head of State, will include military and civilian honours to pay tribute to a man who has left his mark on the Cameroonian political scene.
