These cases of human rights violations are part of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement’s 2023 report on human rights in the country.

Divided into four parts, the 33-page document presents human rights violations that took place in 2023. This is the fourth report of its kind. It highlights violations against Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) militants, human rights violations in the North West, South West and Far North regions.

For instance, the document also states that on January 2023, ELECAM delegate for the Momo division, John Fai, was beaten to death in the Newroad neighborhood of Bamenda. Secessionists set on fire several cars in the Ndu division on February 06 2023. Five CDC workers were killed on February 10 of the same year, while three explosives were detonated during the 28th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope in Buea on 25 February. A number of human rights violations have been noted, including the abduction of around 30 women on May 20/21, murder of 10 people at Nacho junction in Bamenda 2, murder of four PAMOL employees in September, and arson attack on 25 people in Egbekaw village on 5 November.

There were a total of 107 cases of human rights violations in Cameroon during the year. 49 of these occurred in the North West and South West regions. Almost all were the work of separatists fighters.
