The Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis, widely known as the Shisong Sisters, have announced the official inauguration of the newly constructed St. Clare Catholic General Hospital.
Scheduled to take place on July 25, 2026, the opening of this modern medical facility represents a major milestone in the congregation’s enduring mission to deliver high-quality, affordable healthcare across Cameroon.
To mark the momentous occasion, the hospital will host a two-day subsidized health campaign aimed at boosting healthcare access for the residents of Babenga, Bekoko, and surrounding communities. The community outreach event will run on July 22 and 23, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. daily on the hospital’s premises in Babenga, situated near the Camion entrance in Bekoko.
During the two-day campaign, a team of qualified medical professionals will offer an array of essential services entirely free of charge to the public. Attendees will have access to complimentary malaria screenings, haemoglobin measurements, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, and confidential HIV testing alongside professional counseling.
Beyond the free screenings, St. Clare Catholic General Hospital will also provide a substantial 50 percent discount on various diagnostic tests and specialized medical investigations. This initiative underscores the Shisong Sisters’ commitment to easing the financial burden of healthcare for local families ahead of the hospital’s full operational launch.
