The Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, has once again decided to spend this year with the Defence Forces.
Spending the festive season with his troops has become a tradition for Minister Beti Assomo. And once again this year, from 31 December 2023 to 1 January 2024, the Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge od Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo, will be on field alongside the defence forces. During the two-day visit, from 8pm on Sunday, the traditional message of the Head of State to the nation will take place at a command post of the defence and security forces in Jabane on the Bakassi peninsula.
On New Year’s Day, Joseph Beti Assomo will preside over the award of epaulettes to promote members of the defence forces from the Jabane garrison. The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. His visit to the South West administrative region will end with this second lapse. He will then travel to the Littoral, where the programme includes a ceremony at 3:00pm for the award of epaulettes to members of the defence forces who have been promoted from the Douala garrison.
Before Jabane, the Minister will meet troops in Garoua Boulaï in the Lom et Djerem division in the East Region, in Dschang in the Menoua division, West Region, in Tibati in Lom et Djerem, in Bossangoa and in Bangui with the Cameroonian battalion participating in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic, among others.
