Cameroon’s economic capital was the venue for this meeting last 20 and 21 June. This was the maiden edition of the event.
“Environmental, Social and Governance Investment in Central and West Africa”. This was the theme of the first edition of the Waca Investment Summit. The well-attended two-day event, patronized by Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Fuh Calistus Gentry, saw the active participation of company directors, led by Martial Tchakounte Dazoue, Director of the Afriland First Bank Branch, Mr Christian Ambala Mbele, promoter of the West and Central Africa Investment Summit (Waca Investment Summit), lawyers, journalists, students, Cameroonian and foreign investors, project promoters, etc. The programme included: project exhibitions, round tables, debates, symposiums and networking sessions.
For Christian Ambala Mbele, organiser of the event, “the Waca Investment Summit is nothing more than a platform for investors and project promoters to meet, share experiences and success stories. This summit, born out of my own entrepreneurial experience and sharing with project sponsors and business leaders, also aims to promote the values of integrity. I think I know how difficult it is to work passionately on a project and not have the means to get closer to family and friends, or even to end up annoying them. Our financial system is a paradox. We give you money if you’ve got enough collateral. And our financial system is not adapted and does not give credibility to a certain number of people.
