According to its owner, the South-West football club, Njalla Quan Sport Academy is to stop taking part in competitions organised by Fecafoot.

The announcement was made last July 4 by club president Henry Njalla Quan II. In a press release, he announced that his club would cease all football-related activities in Cameroon. The announcement follows the club’s elimination from the play-off semi-finals in the South West region and its temporary exclusion as a member of the Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

It should be noted that this decision comes at a time when the owner, Henri Njalla Quan II Junior, is at open war with Samuel Eto’o Fils, FECAFOOT President. It will be recalled that the 4th vice-president of the body was suspended during an emergency committee meeting after criticising the president’s management.

“The events surrounding our South-West Regional League semi-final match against Kumba City FC have shown that football results unfortunately depend on problems – political problems – off the pitch,” argues Henri Njalla Quan II.

He continues saying, “given these circumstances, it would be difficult for us to continue our activities in the conditions that currently surround football in the South-West region and in Cameroon. It would be frustrating for our young players to play in conditions that are not conducive to their careers,”.

It will also be recalled that during this match, Njalla Quan Sport Academy received 5 red cards and conceded 3 penalties against Kumba City in the first leg of the South-West play-off for Interpol.
