The 24th of September 2023 will mark the end of the sports season in Cameroon, with the final of the Cameroon Cup on the agenda.
PWD of Bamenda will take on Fovu Club of Baham upcoming Sunday. This is in line with the unfolding the closing ceremony of the 2022-2023 sports season in Cameroon. It will take place on Sunday September, 24 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.
The two clubs will meet in the final for the trophy won last year by Coton Sport of Garoua. The teams are already sharpening their weapons. PWD of Bamenda have just signed centre-back Atangana Jeff Cédric (19) on a two-year contract.
PWD – Fovu will also be a match of statistics. It will be the fourth time the two finalists play in front of the President of the Republic or his representative. Fovu, two-time winners in 2001 and 2010, lost the 2006 final. On the PWD side, Abakwa Boys lost their first two finals in 1967 and 1979 before winning the 2021 edition. In terms of cup titles, it is Fovu who has the edge.
