Nine people were killed when gunmen attacked the Bamenyam market in the Bamboutos division in the West region.

According to the authorities of the Bamboutos division, nine people were killed in the attack in the Bamenyam market. Armed men on motorbikes attacked the market and, according to witnesses, killed nine civilians and abducting many.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack, but anglophone separatists in the virtual state of Ambazonia have been blamed. This latest attack comes two weeks after the massacre of civilians in Mamfé in south-west Cameroon.
