Regarding the celebration of Commonwealth Day on March 11, the Ministry of External Relations organised a flag-raising ceremony to mark the official launch.

The theme of this year’s Commonwealth Day is ‘A Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’. According to the institution, this theme highlights how the 56 member countries need to harness their strengths by building resilience, unlocking potential, harnessing the ‘Commonwealth advantage’ and promoting a connected, digital Commonwealth.

Cameroon, member of the Gentlemen’s Association since 1995, organised a hoisting ceremony this week to officially launch the Commonwealth Week. The ceremony was attended by Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate for Commonwealth Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country’s minister of Culture, Pierre Ismaël Bidoung Mkpatt. During the ceremony, the government reaffirmed its commitment to the value and principles of the Commonwealth.

As part of the activities for this edition, the British diplomatic mission in Cameroon is organising the High Commissioner for a Day competition.
