This was discussed at a meeting organised by the Cameroon Red Cross at the University of Yaounde II, Soa.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, experts and students gathered at the University of Yaoundé II, Soa, to discuss the topic “Women and war in Africa: suffering, resilience and reconstruction”. The conference shed light on the role of women in African society and was organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross. For the institution, this role should no longer be limited to that of the victim, but should also highlight their ability to overcome adversity.
The panel took the opportunity to showcase women’s resilience in wartime, courage and leadership. Useful skills for postconflict projects. According to the Rector of the University, Professor Adolphe Minkoa She, women should not be left behind, but rather their rights, their capacities and their know-how should be promoted.
