The President of the Republic of Cameroon Paul Biya has received new year wishes  from the diplomatic corps and National Dignitaries made up of 37 delegations. This was during the 2026 new year wishes presentation ceremony to the Head of State that took place yesterday January 8, 2026 at the Unity Palace.

The delegations was made up of executives, legislative and judicial arms of government plus business persons amongst many personalities.

While addressing the diplomatic corps, which was the first group to extend their new year wishes, President Biya highlighted Cameroon’s engagements in the maintenance of peace and different courses in the promotion of humanitarian rights. He equally made mention of global issues in the world and the need to respect the territorial integrity of states, as he called for an end to violence.

“We intend to help Cameroon through the diplomatic missions in strengthening peace and relations in the sub regions. We see Cameroon as a hub of peace and development in Africa. With the numerous diplomatic efforts and gains, Cameroon has been able to build win-win relations with the entire world”, H.E Armando Kote Echuaca, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Cameroon while addressing the president on behalf of his crew.

As the various diplomats echoed their wishes to the President, some of them use the opportunities to congratulate the Head of State for effective maintainance of bilateral cooperations. This was the case with Equatorial Guinea’s Ambassador who referred to Paul Biya as a model of leadership and wisdom as he said Cameroon is the first country with mastery of bilateral cooperations.

After the diplomatic corp, it was the turn of the National Dignitaries beginning with members of the senate, the national assembly, the constitutional council, members of government, business tycoons, and many others. They expressed satisfaction at the end of the ceremony as President Biya reiterated his stand for a country void of conflict. A call which was equally made by all religious leaders present. They urged all Cameroonians to work towards the peace and stability of the nation.

The new year wishes ceremony, was outlined by many as a premier and a privilege for them to meet with the President face to face and shake hands with the patriarche of Cameroon.
