Her Grace Sarah Mullally, Archbishop of Canterbury, departed the Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport on Saturday, August 1, 2026, marking the second leg of her historic five-day pastoral visit to Cameroon.

The leader of the Anglican Communion was seen off by Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji, Cameroon’s High Commissioner to the UK Albert Fotabong, and local administrative authorities including the SDO and DO for Mefou-et-Afamba.

Prior to taking off on a CAMAIR-Co flight for Douala, the Archbishop held a meeting in the airport VIP lounge with government officials and church members to review the itinerary for her mission.

​Arriving in Cameroon on July 31, 2026, this journey marks Her Grace’s first-ever official visit to the country and the African continent. Following her landing in Douala, the delegation will travel by road into the South-West region to visit the key towns of Buea and Limbe. The regional tour is structured to foster closer ties between the international Anglican Communion and local Cameroonian congregations during her stay, which concludes on Tuesday.

​The Archbishop’s itinerary in the South-West Region features engagements centered on community service, spiritual fellowship, and institutional collaboration. In Buea, Her Grace will visit the Doctor Biaka Memorial Foundation to inspect its ongoing humanitarian and educational work. In Limbe, she is scheduled to meet with local Anglican Church leadership, engage with regional administrative authorities, and participate in a cultural evening with local parishioners.

​This historic pastoral visit aims to deepen spiritual unity, strengthen internal fellowship within the Anglican Church of Cameroon, and promote broader values of peace and mutual cooperation.

By combining formal church services with high-level civic engagements, the visit reinforces the ongoing dialogue between the Cameroonian government and the international Anglican Communion.
