A parliamentary delegation from the Cameroon-France Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Cameroon is conducting an official working visit to Paris from October 6 to 8, 2026.

Led by the group’s chairman, Honorable Jean-Jacques Zam, the delegation is traveling at the invitation of its French counterpart, the France-Cameroon Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is chaired by Julien Dive, Member of Parliament for Aisne.

This visit serves as a pivotal initiative to reinforce parliamentary diplomacy and consolidate long-standing bilateral relations between Cameroon and France. Over the course of the three-day program, lawmakers and institutional officials from both nations are gathering for series of targeted working sessions and strategic discussions focused on deepening interparliamentary cooperation and exploring new avenues of mutual interest.

Highlighting the start of the mission, the Cameroonian delegation attended the high-profile question time (Questions au Gouvernement) in the main chamber of the Palais-Bourbon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. During this session, the delegation received a warm official welcome from Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the French National Assembly, marking a strong symbolic gesture of mutual respect between the two legislative bodies.

The visiting delegation includes key members of Cameroon’s parliament, the group’s administrative secretary, Jean-Vincent Ondo Ondo (Head of the National Assembly Branch in Paris), and Sylvestre Onana – Head of the Communication Center at the Cameroonian Embassy in France. Their collective presence underscores the broad administrative and diplomatic commitment behind this strategic engagement.

Ultimately, this working visit reflects the shared determination of both legislative bodies to foster deeper dialogue and build stronger institutional ties between Cameroon and France.

By maintaining active parliamentary exchange, both nations aim to expand their cooperative framework and promote closer connections between their respective representatives and citizens.
