From October 12 to 16, 2026, Cape Town, South Africa, hosted the premier gathering of the continent’s energy leadership for African Energy Week – AEW 2026.

Convened under the theme “Invest in African Energies: Abundant and affordable energy supplies for Africa,” the international event brought together key stakeholders, policy makers, and investors.

The Cameroonian delegation was led by Mrs. Nathalie Moudiki, Adviser No. 2 at SNH, accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Solomon Azoh Mbi, Cameroon’s High Commissioner to South Africa. Through high-level panel discussions, bilateral audience meetings, and a well-received exhibition stand, the delegation successfully highlighted Cameroon’s evolving energy landscape. Their presence raised the nation’s profile in Cape Town and demonstrated SNH’s readiness to engage with international partners.

A primary focus of SNH’s participation was the promotion of its renewed vision for unlocking value in Cameroon’s upstream oil and gas sector. Central to this strategy is the ongoing Licensing Round, which makes several available free petroleum blocks open to prospective investors. By presenting the competitive potential of these offshore and onshore assets, SNH sought to attract experienced operators committed to sustainable exploration and production.

In addition to traditional exploration, SNH generated significant enthusiasm with its innovative RG2D-NUBIATECH (Refinery Gas to Data) initiative. This forward-looking project aims to harness domestic natural gas supplies to power modern data centers and spur the development of new economic zones across the country. The presentation of this gas-to-data framework captured widespread attention from tech and energy infrastructure investors alike.

The delegation’s proactive engagement yielded tangible outcomes, securing several formal expressions of interest for future strategic partnerships. These preliminary commitments pave the way for increased foreign direct investment, technology transfer, and joint venture opportunities in Cameroon’s natural resources sector.

By leading this impactful mission, SNH reaffirms its vital role as a catalyst for local economic development. Moving forward, the company remains dedicated to collaborating with committed global partners to build a resilient energy ecosystem, one that drives Cameroon’s national transformation while contributing to the broader economic emergence of the African continent.
