Beyond the regional trophy, the tournament served as the official zonal qualifier for continental competition. By reaching the final, both champions Cameroon and runners-up Central African Republic earned direct qualification to represent the Central African zone at the upcoming U20 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations – AFCON scheduled to take place in Ghana in 2027.

The successful completion of the UNIFFAC U20 championship underscores ongoing efforts across the sub-region to structure youth development pathways across the U17, U20, and U23 tiers. With qualification secured, both national football federations now turn their focus to preparation for the continental stage in Ghana.
