The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Célestine Ketcha Courtès, received the High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Cameroon, His Excellency Shri Vijay Khanduja, during a courtesy audience on Monday, July 20, 2026.
The meeting provided a key platform for both officials to discuss avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and India in urban development sectors.
A central focus of the discussions was expanding technical collaboration, particularly regarding training and capacity-building programs for Cameroonian civil servants. Both parties explored strategies to share expertise, enhance public administration skills, and address common urbanization challenges through structured institutional support and shared bilateral initiatives.
Appointed as India’s High Commissioner to Cameroon in September 2024, His Excellency Shri Vijay Khanduja brings extensive diplomatic experience to the role. Prior to his current post, he served as Ambassador of India to Zimbabwe and held the position of Director of the United Nations Economic and Social Affairs Division at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
This audience underscores a mutual commitment by Cameroon and India to solidify their diplomatic ties. By focusing on capacity building and urban management, the two nations aim to foster sustainable development and strengthen key institutional frameworks to benefit both countries.
