The Minister of Public Health led a delegation visiting pharmaceutical companies in Douala.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda, just paid a visit to Douala. That was on the 24th of November. The working visit took place at pharmaceutical production units in the commercial town and aimed at listening to pleas of pharmaceutical industry.

The aim of the Minister’s visit was to listen to the grievances of those involved. He also wanted to get a first-hand impression of the realities of the sector. The visit began at Cinpharm, where the association of the pharmaceutical industry handed over a petition to the minister. Operators are seeking government support in the form of facilities to help them increase production, complaining of strong competition from imports.

The Minister of Health visited Afripharma’s facilities after Cinpharm. Two further stops were later on made by him, at Primex and Africure, followed later in the programme.
