The men were arrested by members of the gendarmerie in the town of Ngaoundéré in the Adamawa region.

For the people of Ngaoundéré, in the Adamawa region, 2024 is off to a quiet start. At the end of last year, two specialists in human bones trade were arrested by members of the Ngaoundéré gendarmerie at the Bini bridge in the Ngan-ha subdivision.

The arrest took place on December 29 in a public transport bus. They had a human skeleton in a backpack and were preparing to sell it for 12 million CFA francs to a buyer living in the village of Wamé on the Touboro road.

They were immediately taken to the gendarmerie where they confessed to having exhumed the body of a resident of the Bidi village, in Bitam subdivision of the Mbam-et-Kim division. According to the commander of the Ngaoundéré company, Lieutenant Ngono Afoumou, the two suspects will be brought before the ordinary courts to answer charges of grave desecration and the exhumation of a corpse in collusion.
