Cameroonian women’s football achieved a major milestone on the continental stage as Lekie Football Filles secured their place in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League.
By finishing at the top of the Union of Central African Football Federations – UNIFFAC qualifying tournament held in Yaoundé, the club became the first Cameroonian team in history to advance to the final phase of the prestigious competition.
The historic qualification was sealed on Friday following a goalless 0-0 draw against Congolese side FA M’Sichana on the tournament’s final matchday, giving the host champions enough points to preserve their lead.
