The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul ATANGA NJI, granted an audience on May 5, 2026 to a high-level delegation from the BGFIBank Group, led by its Chairman and CEO, Henri Claude OYIMA, accompanied by the Managing Director of BGFIBank Cameroon, ABAKAL MAHAMAT.
The meeting is part of the regular exchanges between public authorities and major players in the financial sector, aimed at consolidating an environment conducive to investment and economic development in Cameroon. Discussions focused on the strategic role of the banking sector in supporting public policies, as well as prospects for strengthening the partnership between the State and the BGFIBank Group.
The talks also covered preparations for the celebration of BGFIBank Cameroon’s 15th anniversary, coupled with the BGFIBank Group’s more than 50 years of existence. This major event will be held this coming Saturday, May 9, in Douala, and will serve as a key moment to highlight the group’s contribution to financing the national and sub-regional economy.
Minister Paul ATANGA NJI praised the BGFIBank Group’s constant commitment alongside Cameroonian authorities, while reaffirming the government’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening financial stability and promoting inclusive growth.
Deeply committed to financing large corporations, supporting SMEs, and developing infrastructure, the banking institution has considerably reinforced its presence. Its capital has been increased to 50 billion FCFA, its network has expanded to 22 branches, and structural investments have been made, most notably the construction of a modern headquarters in Douala.
