The Mutual Society of Journalists and Associates of Cameroon dubbed MUJAC is set to host the sixth edition of its annual academic support ceremony this Friday, September 11, 2026, in Yaounde.

Designed to ease the financial burden of back-to-school expenses for information and communication professionals, the initiative brings together support from key government departments, individual benefactors, and official sponsor ILEAD GLOBAL. Children of beneficiary families are expected to gather starting at 3:30 p.m., ahead of the official ceremony commencing at 4:00 p.m.

A major highlight of this year’s program is the significant financial contribution from US-based Cameroonian billionaire Raphaël Djine. According to event organizers, Djine has pledged a $2,500 scholarship for each beneficiary child, marking a transformative addition to the mutual society’s traditional support model.

This substantial funding aims to provide long-term educational backing and crucial economic relief for media workers and their families.

In addition to the monetary grants, young attendees will receive tailored school kits containing essential learning resources. The distributed items include notebooks, books, school bags, symbolic envelopes, and computers to equip students for the academic year ahead. By supplying both physical materials and digital tools, MUJAC ensures that students enter the classroom with the necessary supplies to succeed.
