As part of the fight against food insecurity, a WFP food quality and safety team accompanied by Simplice Sadou, the regional delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture for the Far North, is visiting the rice production structures based in Maroua. The objective is to fight against food insecurity by strengthening the production techniques of rice enrichment units in micro-nutrients and vitamins. Indeed, it should be noted that locally produced rice is enriched with vitamins A, B6, iron and zinc… elements that are essential in the fight against malnutrition, especially among children under five and those of school age.
