The Council has been meeting since 22 July regarding its general ordinary assembly to discuss the region’s budget for 2025.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the North West Regional Council, Pr Fru Angwafo III, underscored an increase in the budget for the current financial year. “You are being asked to adjust the 2024 budget because we have more than CFAF 1.2 billion extra for investment,” he said speaking to members of the council

This extra money, according to the President, comes from additional funds received from the government. These assertions were made during the update sessions of the North West Regional Assembly, which began on July 22 as part of the performance evaluation session for the first half of 2024. They also focused on the direction of the 2025 budget.

At the end of the meeting, the board members were urged to monitor the investments and projects of the Peace and Development Initiative: “This is an imperative and a cause of our survival.”

The meeting was also an opportunity to prepare for the visit to the region of the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie, announced by President Fru Angwafo.
