The Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, chaired the national restitution workshop in Yaounde on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The event highlighted the tangible outcomes achieved by Cameroonian businesses supported by MINEPAT during the 10th edition of the PROMOTE International Exhibition, held from June 12 to 21, 2026, at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.

A total of 100 high-growth-potential Cameroonian companies operating within the priority sectors of the SND30 national development strategy benefited from MINEPAT’s institutional support. Of the 200,000 total visitors registered at the trade fair, approximately 93,000 visited the stands of MINEPAT-supported enterprises, accounting for 47% of the total event attendance.

This support enabled the participating enterprises to establish 480 direct business contacts and initiate negotiations for 393 business partnerships. By the end of the exhibition, 43 partnerships were successfully concluded by 24 companies, representing an immediate 11% conversion rate across key areas such as distribution, logistics, supply chain, production sharing, financing, and packaging.

Overall engagement statistics reveal that 73 of the 100 supported companies successfully established business contacts, with 64 entering active negotiations. Discussions are currently ongoing with 61 companies regarding 350 remaining business deals, signaling strong potential for additional commercial agreements in the near future.

The restitution workshop marks the beginning of a dedicated follow-up phase aimed at strengthening MINEPAT’s support framework for local businesses.

Looking ahead, preparations will commence in 2027 to organize structured support programs for Cameroonian enterprises ahead of PROMOTE 2028.
