The quarterly coordination meeting of Technical and Financial Partners (TFPs) operating in the health sector took place on October 7, 2026, in the conference hall of the Ministry of Public Health. Chaired by Technical Adviser No. 1 / Acting Secretary General, representing the Minister of Public Health, the meeting brought together several TFPs and senior ministry officials. The primary objective of the session was to enhance cooperation and increase the visibility of partner interventions across Cameroon. During the event, the Cooperation Division presented an updated mapping of health sector TFP interventions, developed with technical support from the DROS. This tool aims to clarify partner roles, geographic coverage, and funding sources, helping to prevent overlap, address underserved regions, and guide resource allocation and agreement signings.
Discussions focused on the necessity for collaborative planning aligned directly with national health priorities. The Minister’s representative emphasized that partners must submit their Annual Work Plans (AWPs) to the Cooperation Division in advance to ensure better alignment with government objectives. Furthermore, he noted an overreliance on workshops in certain work plans and urged partners to shift focus toward high-impact field interventions that directly improve patient care. To keep the mapping tool accurate, partners were also asked to regularly submit intervention data and project results to the Cooperation Division.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of several strategic bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects. Discussions covered the finalization of the Partnership Cooperation Strategy and the multisectoral planning for the Health Account. Additionally, participants evaluated progress on key initiatives, including Vitamin A supplementation programs, joint efforts with the Alliance for Humanitarian Action in Africa, the renewal of the Letter of Agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and ongoing collaboration with the ADAN Geneva Foundation.
Through this structured approach—aligned with both the Health Sector Strategy and the National Development Strategy 2030 (SND30)—the Ministry of Public Health aims to establish a more transparent, accountable, and result-driven partnership framework. By improving planning and resource distribution, MINSANTÉ and its international partners seek to achieve tangible healthcare improvements for communities throughout the country.
