At this conference initiated by UNESCO, the country’s experience was shared by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mkpatt.

The aim is to provide a better framework for the cultural and artistic education. It is with this in mind, that the Global Culture and Arts Education organised for the first time by UNESCO brought together cultural stakeholders.

The conference, which was being held in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, was an opportunity for participants to draw up guidelines to facilitate the implementation of new policies for the empowerment of learners. An opportunity to also discuss current challenges such as climate change, violence and the accelerating digital transformation and its risks.

A real boon for Cameroon, the conference marked the venue for discussions between Cameroon’s representative, Minister of Culture, Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mkpatt, and UN agency actor. For example, he had a working session with UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Culture, Ernesto Ottone Ramirez. The meeting was an opportunity for an assessment of the institution’s projects in Cameroon.

Furthermore, Africa will be given priority in the field of education, as announced by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism and Co-Chairman of the conference, at the end of the meeting on February 15.
