The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, received in audience on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Yaounde, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Cameroon, H.E. Mrs. Natalie Kohli.
This high-level meeting allowed both diplomats to review bilateral cooperation and exchange views on matters of mutual interest. Discussions focused primarily on humanitarian action, health, and security issues in several key regions of the country.
At the outset of the discussions, the Swiss diplomat expressed her gratitude to the Minister and his local services for the warm welcome and logistical support provided during her recent travels across the national territory.
Having traveled through almost all regions of Cameroon since their previous meeting in July 2025, the Ambassador praised the excellent quality of territorial monitoring that facilitated her field missions.
Particular emphasis was placed on the situation in the Far North region, where Switzerland maintains a strategic historical presence, notably through direct support to two hospital facilities. Discussions also addressed humanitarian challenges in the North-West and South-West regions, which remain priority areas for Swiss diplomacy this October. Mrs. Natalie Kohli reaffirmed her country’s ongoing commitment alongside the Cameroonian state to meet the urgent needs of vulnerable populations.
Switzerland’s overall humanitarian action in Cameroon relies on both direct engagement and funding for key partners on the ground. The Ambassador highlighted the central role of the International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC, a neutral organization based in Geneva with a long-standing presence in Cameroon, for which Switzerland is a major donor. She emphasized that these issues remain paramount for her country, a major global hub for international organizations.
As a reminder, H.E. Natalie Kohli serves as Switzerland’s Ambassador to Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea, based in Yaounde.
This fruitful audience opens promising new perspectives for strengthening bilateral diplomacy, testifying to a shared determination to revitalize cooperation and strategic dialogue between Yaoundé and Bern.
